Engine Overhaul & Workshop Technician

My client is an established and successful generator services provider within the Power Generation sector who is thriving in this market. Due to their planned growth, a newly created opportunity has arisen for an Engine Overhaul Technician to enhance their rebuild team and look after the major maintenance of industrial engines in their local workshop.

Working in a competent and effective team, we are looking for a like-minded individual to be responsible for performing large engine overhauls, including head removal, de-coke, rebuild, replacing crank and camshafts, and installing and refitting engine components. 

You will also be responsible for the maintenance of engines, including basic fault finding and troubleshooting. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business during a pivotal phase of its growth. 

The successful candidate will possess exceptional mechanical engineering skills, with prior experience performing overhaul, rebuild, and major maintenance tasks on large diesel, gas, or marine engines. Basic electrical troubleshooting skills would be an added bonus.

Above all, you will need to be able to work independently and be trustworthy, with a great sense of humour!

We welcome applications from engine rebuild and overhaul technicians in the Power Generation, HGV, Industrial, Forces, or Marine sectors with relevant experience. Product-specific training will be provided.

The Engine Overhaul & Workshop Technician Package: 

• £25,000 – £32,000 (nego DOE)
• Overtime at x1.5 base rate

Ideally, the Engine Overhaul & Workshop Technician will be qualified at Apprenticeship, City and Guilds level or above in an Engineering discipline with prior experience gained overhauling diesel or gas engines.
