Our client is a  leading provider of diesel generator solutions, offering reliable power generation solutions. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join their dynamic team. 

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by identifying opportunities, providing technical expertise, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Role Overview:

The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for promoting, selling, and providing services to clients within the South East region. You will work closely with the operations and engineering teams to understand customer needs, provide technical solutions, and ensure successful project implementation. 

Your technical expertise and strong communication skills will be critical in building customer relationships, managing logistical challenges, assessing Generator requirements, and closing sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the diesel generator sector through market research, networking, and relationship building.
  • Create and execute sales strategies to achieve targets and increase market share.
  • Understand customer requirements and provide customized solutions that meet their needs.
  • Assist customers in selecting the appropriate diesel generator models based on their specific requirements and budgets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving technical issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
  • Act as a trusted customer advisor, offering expert guidance solutions, maintenance, and after-sales support.
  • Ensure seamless project implementation and timely solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to prepare accurate and competitive project proposals, including technical specifications, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess project requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure successful installation of diesel generator systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ideally, HNC/HND qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualifications.
  • Proven experience within the diesel generator sector or a similar industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diesel generator systems, including components, controls, and applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and effectively convey technical information.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue business opportunities, meet sales targets, and negotiate contracts.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, MS Office Suite, and other relevant sales tools.
