About the Role:

As the Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the full operational activities of the business, including engineering, project management, and service delivery. Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a critical role in setting the strategic direction of the company, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, and driving continuous improvement across all business functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the company’s operations across all divisions, ensuring high levels of performance, efficiency, and quality.
• Drive operational excellence, focusing on process improvements, cost control, and productivity optimisation.
• Develop and implement strategies to support business growth, diversification, and market expansion within the power generation sector.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, project, and service teams to ensure successful project delivery, maintenance schedules, and service contracts.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), addressing any gaps and aligning operations with company goals.
• Oversee health and safety compliance, ensuring all operational activities meet industry standards and regulations.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and partners.
• Develop and mentor the operational teams, promoting a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
• Work alongside the commercial and sales teams to identify new opportunities and support business development efforts.

About You:

• Proven experience as an Operations Director or in a senior operations role within the power generation, utilities, or energy sectors.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to implement operational strategies that drive business performance and efficiency.
• Excellent knowledge of power generation systems, including engines, turbines, CHP systems, and associated technologies.
• Ability to analyse complex problems, identify innovative solutions, and implement operational improvements.
• Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior operational roles, ideally within the power generation or energy sectors.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the industry.
