Renew Consultancy is actively recruiting an experienced and driven Operations Manager for a leading company in the power generation industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual with a strong operational background to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of key business functions and to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services.

About the Role:

As the Operations Manager, you will oversee the operational activities of the company’s power generation projects, managing teams and ensuring operational excellence across all business units. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s growth objectives, maintaining high standards of service, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of power generation services, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
• Manage and coordinate engineering teams, service technicians, and subcontractors to ensure efficient resource allocation and optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain operational processes, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency, productivity, and safety across all operational functions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for operational enhancement and implementing best practices to maximise performance.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring goals are met and identifying areas for improvement.
• Manage operational budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safety-first culture.
• Work closely with senior leadership to align operational activities with strategic business goals and growth plans.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to operational staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.

About You:

• Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar role within the power generation, energy, or utilities sectors.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop engineering and service teams.
• Extensive knowledge of power generation systems, including engines, turbines, and combined heat and power (CHP) systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the power generation or related sectors.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive profitability.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an operational management role, ideally within the power generation industry.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Full UK driving licence.
