The Search:
Renew Consultancy was appointed to identify a Project Manager to carry out a critical role within the business.
The client’s challenge was due to an internal promotion and needing to recruit externally, they had tried recruiting themselves without success, offers were rejected due to the candidates receiving counter offers at their current employers, and were frustrated with the lack of candidate commitment.
The client needed an experienced Project management professional with specific sector knowledge to ensure their customers’ projects were delivered on time and within budget.
Key Candidate Attributes
- Take responsibility for multiple CHP projects from order through delivery, installation and commissioning before handover to the client.
- Attend project meetings
- Organise and attend client site technical meetings
- Liaise with the supply chain for component logistics
- Coordinating and managing sub-contractors
- Oversee commissioning activities and ensure the projects are completed.
- Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
- Experience with building services plant (both electrical and mechanical)
- Self-motivated, and trustworthy to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Good verbal and written presentation skills

- Strong practical knowledge of CHP, acoustics, mechanical P&ID’s, Electrical Schematics

The Project Manager must be happy travelling long distances and capable of thriving in a fast-changing environment.

The successful candidate owns responsibility for a project from receipt at the point of sale, through delivery, installation, commissioning and handover.
They have a wealth of experience liaising with sales departments and co-ordinating the designs of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and GA designs.
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the commissioning stage to ensure the project is complete within the program timeframe and to the utmost satisfaction.
