Renew Consultancy are working with a Power Generation company who, due to an internal promotion within their service department, are recruiting a Diesel Generator Field Service Engineer to join their thriving business.

We are keen to speak with enthusiastic and self-motivated Diesel Generator Field Service Engineers to cover selected geographical areas around Cheshire, West Midlands and Greater Manchester. Your time will be split between field service and depot based activities. This will give you a great opportunity to become immersed in the business from an operational standpoint and enjoy a varied and exciting career move with a friendly and passionate team!

It is important to note there is no need for the Generator Field Service Engineer to participate in any on-call system, however, overtime is readily available at x1.5 your base rate.

Working on diesel generator sets and associated auxiliary equipment, including but not limited to routine service and maintenance or test & inspection, you could be involved in any of the following activities:

  • Generator installation
  • Fault finding, repairs and problem resolution.
  • Refurbishment work.
  • Load bank testing.
  • Wiring fault finding.
  • Replacing mechanical and electrical engine components.
  • Control panel fault finding and troubleshooting.
  • Updating relevant paperwork.
  • Complying with H&S standards on site.
  • Control panel exposure on Dief, Deep Sea, ComAP, SDMO or a related power generation controls / PLC system would be a distinct advantage.

Ideally, you will be qualified at Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND or City & Guilds level in an Engineering discipline.
